There's a reason these rules are posted here. No, it's not just so they take up space. Rules are posted because you are supposed to read them, because if you don't, it will be obvious, and you'll be in some trouble. So, just read them. It isn't long. Heed by them.
General
-Stick to the rules of Proboards; that means no inappropriate junk.
-Please be kind and keep the cursing to a minimum. I know some of you guys can’t help yourselves, but there could be kids on here. Please don’t be a bad influence.
-Be respectful to all members. Just because your characters hate each other doesn't mean for YOU to hate each other.
-Everyone, and I do mean everyone, has to post an application for any characters they wish to role-play. They also need to be accepted, but one of us admins will likely be on every day, so it won’t kill you to wait.
-You can have as many characters as you want, just keep them all active, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea to come up with a system of differentiating characters when posting, so people don’t get confused.
-Please note that this is an intermediate-advanced RP, and I expect you to act like it. Put in an effort in your bios and posts, please; one-liners burn my eyes and bios under 100 words blind me temporarily. So please, spare me the pain and do a good job.
-Now, I am fully aware that this is an InuYasha RP and thus a fantasy RP, but can we please have semi-realistic characters? No half dog half horse half dragon demons, ok? Keep the cross-breeds to a minimum, and any cross breeds made should act like a cross breed, since most, if not all, cross-breeds are shunned by pretty much everyone. But don’t take it too far, sob emo stories make me throw my laptop out the window, and I like this laptop. Also, though demons, and some humans, have powers, these are mortals or, at the most, eternals; they are not Gods, they are not immortal, they are not omnipotent; please give your characters limitations. God-moding characters will be beaten up by the allowably super-powerful-admin-characters-of-doom. You have been warned.
Role-playing
-Again, be at least semi-literate. No one-liners, try to post at least two or three sentences per post, preferably more. You don't have to write an essay, but put in an effort. Remember, you don’t want to burn my eyes out with a one-liner.
-Role-playing can be in either first or third person, but must be in past tense. And please, if you use first person, try to have some sort of reason for it, otherwise you may as well be posting in third person, and first often gets confusing for other RPers.
-No god-moding or power-playing. God-moding is when your character is all-powerful, invincible, or able to dodge all attacks, or, more simply, being role-played as if they were a God. Power-playing is when you role-play some one else’s character at any time. Power-playing is only allowed in certain situations when the role-player of the power-played character gives permission. By the way, the password is komodo. And I’m saying this again so no one tells me they didn’t get warned: God-moding (or power-playing, for that matter) characters WILL be beaten up by the allowably super-powerful-admin-characters-of-doom. You have been warned. Again.
-NEW RULE: All rpg posts must go through spell check before being posted. Now there are several ways for you to make sure your lovely posts have at least most of the words spelt right. One of them is to write up your post in Microsoft Word. Now this is probably the best way because it also corrects other grammar mistakes. If you do not have Microsoft word there’s this lovely little thing on the site that Proboards provided. Its called spell check. To find this miraculous spell check just simply click the reply button instead of using the quick reply. If I find out you’re not using the spell check then whatever post you have made will be deleted!
This lovely new edit was brought to you by KitsuneMIKO.
Fighting
-Try to have a reason for any fights your characters get into. Don’t just go around being confrontational and fighting everyone you see; make sure there’s some legitimate reason on why two characters are trying to kill each other. Even if it’s because your character has anger issues of doom and terror. Just don’t walk up to someone and try to kill them for no reason.
-No killing other characters without their RPer’s permission. If you have their permission, both you and the owner of the character you are killing need to IM a staff member and both need to say it is ok for the character to be killed. We do this because we don’t want any confusion of someone saying that someone else said it was ok to kill their character, and then that someone else complaining that they never said that.
-No god modding or powerplaying!
-Fights can take place any where and for any reason (but there needs to be one!) and as long as the participants can be mature about it, we allow the members to simply role-play out the fight and let the winner be determined that way. If you can’t be mature, then staff will step in and judge who wins and who gets their rear kicked royally. And I monitor pretty much all the posts, so trust me, we’ll know if you’re being immature. Or if your god-moding or power-playing. At which point we will step in with our super-powerful-admin-characters-of-doom and beat your character down. You have officially been warned three times, so no, you do not get a warning before it happens.
