Kagome walked through the forest, time and time again, passing by the Zakota River. She didn't know what she was doing here, she should have been back at the village. She didn't even tell anyone that she was going here, or even that she was leaving in the first place. Maybe she should have. She needed to just get out today, get a little fresh air. Well, nonetheless, what's done was done, and so she couldn't spend her days moaning over a mistake that can't be reversed. Plus, she hadn't been gone for too long now. What was it? Like, fifteen minutes? For all they knew, she could have been out shopping for a while or something. She didn't want to go back just then, but she didn't want to worry anyone either.
The miko decided to stay. What day was it now? Ever since she had decided to help in Inuyasha's time, she could never keep track of the time. Since they were always going somewhere, or doing something, she never knew the date in the present time, and there were a could of days that she promised that she would spend with her family. Well, they would understand right? They knew what was going on now for a while, especially her grandfather. Actually, every time she came back, she was scared to see her friends because of her grandfather. He's always making up the silliest sicknesses, and her friends all end up worried, especially Hojo. He was nice, but sometimes, he gets a little annoying. And why her out of all the people he could have chosen?
Kagome sat down near the river, giving herself a moment to think. Why was she so worried that everyone would worry about her? Everyone knew that she could take care of herself. After the death of Magatsuhi, all her powers were unsealed, so she was even stronger than before. She didn't need someone stalking her all the time, trying to take care of her. The weirdest part was that it seemed like the one who worried the most, was herself. She spent all her days frantic now, worrying about everyone. It seemed like she didn't care about Naruku or the Shikon shards or anything! She just cared about how everyone was doing. It didn't make sense at all. She should have worried about herself, and her health. She was a vital person to the team, as it was her job to find all the shards.
But now wasn't the time to worry. For once, Inuyasha was spending time somewhere, she forgot where, and she had time to herself. She didn't have Shippo bothering her for candy, and Sango, though she was one of her closest friends from the past, wasn't there either. Miroku wasn't there to be a pervert and get hit by Sango, so she should have been relaxing. She wondered if she could ever really get some time alone without thinking of anything important. Ever since she fell into the well, it seems like she's always busy with one thing or another. The few days she does go to school, she looks like an idiot for not knowing any of the material. In the past, it was always, 'Must kill Naraku', or 'Got to get all the Shikon shards'.
Kagome sat nearby the river, staring out into the deep abyss which was the sunset. What was she to do now? Maybe she should just go back, there was no reason for her to be here. She awaited for something to happen. She just had a feeling that something big would occur anytime now. She was starting to get a little lonely. And just minutes ago, she was happy that the rest of the gang wasn't there. She chuckled a little bit. She didn't want to think about any problems right now. Now was just the time to relax. She sat up against a rock by the river, and started to close her eyes. She wasn't going to sleep, but she was going to finally get some rest, just close her eyes for a little bit, and she would go back to the village.
